-first chancellor is Friedrich Ebert voted for by the people until 1925
-citizens don't like this (felt that the constitution was the government's downfall)
-people also angry that they followed the Treaty of Versailles

-unhappy conditions made people think a communist uprising would work

Hyper Inflation
-became extremely out of hand (notes worth more as fire starter than currency)
-having to print new values on side of notes
-everyone starving caused by:

-French Occupation of region in 1923 (whole western half occupied by France)
